My Awesome Childhood Movie Collection

Since I just wrote the last two blogs about that shitty cancer that I have I decided to share some of my favorite movies that I enjoyed as a kid and maybe spark something inside of someone else that would make them feel happy again, if just for a couple hours.  I was only going to share maybe five movies but then I kept finding more and more movies, can't forget about this or that one, oh wait just one more!  Shit.  Now there's a shit ton of movies.  Well...whatever.

I've always wanted to make a girl-version of Rufio for a Halloween costume and have never gotten around to it.  I'll do it one of these years!
Hook

When I plucked a shiny quarter out of the fountain at work the other week I was having a Mouth moment:
The Goonies

Seriously there are just too many favorite scenes and GIF's to choose from in this movie...but I think this one sums it up pretty nice.
Mrs. Doubtfire

I thought Harry was totally adorable and endearing which led me and a few neighbor kids to see if we could find our own Sasquatch in the cornfields behind our house in 1988.
Harry and the Hendersons

THIS is how vampires are supposed to be; absolutely fucking terrifying!
The Lost Boys

THIS is the shit that 10 year old girl's dreams are made of:
The Princess Bride

Sigh....one of the greatest.
Spaceballs

The Originator of Selfies, right here!  My friends and I are going to stay friends forever...even if it means driving off a damn cliff together because otherwise we'll spend eternity in jail.  I'm not saying it couldn't happen someday.
Thelma and Louise

This right here, the split second flip of the brim of his hat with the water flinging off and that SMILE...and I was done for.  Welcome to my full-fledged Brad Pitt obsession that still holds strong to this day!
Legends of the Fall
I have always taken a closer look at ever spoon full of cereal that I put in my mouth since this movie.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
Oooh did I have a crush on that little Mexican somethin fierce!
The Sandlot
I love love love love this movie more than I've ever loved anything ever.  EVER.

Beetlejuice

Such a sweet story!  Match in the gas tank....boom boom!
What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
Ok, this is just a still picture but the only reason I ever watched this movie in the first place was because even my little 8 year-old self knew that I wanted to be Princess Sorsha! And Madmartigan...ooh la la...damn.

Willow

Brad Pitt again!  All sexy and romantic and dead and shit!  I read this book and watched this movie no less than 100 times.  I have an obsessive-compulsive personality (I think), I can't help myself.
Interview with the Vampire
Pretty sure I wasn't ever allowed to watch this as a kid but I probably conned some babysitter into letting it happen.  Did she just get done giving him a BJ in the school parking lot?!
Heathers
This movie was so incredibly dumb you couldn't help but love the shit out of it:
Romy and Michelle's Highschool Reunion

I love every single thing from start to finish about this movie.  It's simply amazing:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Even though the plot was totally unrealistic it was still a cool movie in 1999, when I was still technically a teenager.  I couldn't find a Paul Walker GIF from this movie so here's the next best.  Thanks, Dawson:
Varsity Blues

This movie actually scared the ever-loving shit out of me and made me promptly retire from babysitting in 1996:
Scream

I would have to hand in my Girl Card if I didn't include this one:
Dirty Dancing
There are no words to describe my most favorite movie of all time, which Joe has never seen?!  Christ on a bicycle!!  I know what we're doing this weekend!
Drop Dead Fred

I know I've played this one a bajillion times but it never gets old.  NEVER.

P.S. this is awesome

If you like this shit and want to read more shit like it then check out this shit:
