VaCaTiOn

Last week I had a 9-day vacation from work which I kicked off with a bachlorette party for the lovely Ms Trisha.  She came from Eau Claire to the cities and we rented a suite at the Radisson downtown (which was a shit hole of a room for what they wanted to charge; luckily the bride raised some hell at the front desk and got 50% off the room.  It sucked.  Bad.)  We had got dressed up, had dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery, ran around downtown looking for SexWorld in the sweltering 99 degree weather, found SexWorld after a lovely police officer pointed us in the right direction but followed it with, "You girls shouldn't walk through that area, it's not a good area".  Shit, the cops are even telling us to stay away now?!  Stay away I WILL NOT!  So here's the lovely bachlorette posing with giant golden weiner...she wouldn't straddle the thing so we had to settle for standing next to it.  (she's classy)

Then we went to the 90's and had some drinks and shots and waited for the drag show to start, which was a freaking blast.  I forgot how much I love drag shows, I was practically peeing my pants with hysterical laughter.  I really enjoyed it and am going to try to go again soon.  Then we had some more drinks and more shots and more drinks and the next thing you know we are carrying the bachelorette out of the bar, I have one arm and Hannah has the other and I'm trying not to squeeze her arm too hard because I'm concerned about giving her bruises for her wedding the following weekend but she really needed our assistance with walking so bruises were quickly forgotten.  Once we got back to the shitty room the bride went straight to bed and the rest of us drunken yahoos stayed up a little while longer doing more shots and eating pizza and taco dip and cookies until there was an obnoxious bang on the door and security was threatening to throw us out if we didn't quiet down.  I may have answered the door but I don't quite recall.  Pretty sure we went to bed right after that and woke up at a decent time on Sunday morning, said our good-byes, and went our separate ways.  I was anxious to get to Pepin because my mom had Rosie since Friday night and I was going bat-shit insane without my little fur-baby.  I sat at home on a Friday night, cleaned my room, did laundry, and pouted because my dog was gone.  How lame am I?!

So I get to Pepin and scoop up my little bebe and head over to Joe's house, unpack my life which takes like 30 minutes, plop down on the couch next to Joe and he says, "what's for supper?"  It didn't end well.

So starting Monday, due to the intense and annoying heat, my vacation looked a lot like this:

I also did a lot of this:

Most days I felt like this:

But I'm pretty sure I looked like this:

(I like to use pictures of people more attractive than me.  Except for that last one, which I think is actually a dude.  I am more attractive than that there guy.)

But we did go out fishing three nights and on the first night I managed to do this:

The second time we went out we went cat fishing and it was dark and muggy and buggy and sticky and miserable and the mosquitoes are as thick as stink on shit.  We each caught one small-ish cat fish but we didn't last too long in the swamp and we had to get the hell out of there.  Plus I touched the bait bucket and you can't get that smell out no matter how much you scrub.  Then I got mad because I was hot and sweaty and smelled bad.  Needless to say, I was a cranky bitch that night.

Then on Wednesday, Blarb came to town!  We went fishing and Blarb caught a fish but she won't post it or let anyone see it because she thinks she looks fat.  What a dummy, it's the fish's fault; the fish is making you look fat (because it's so small!) Then we watched the fireworks from the boat in Lake City which was really neat, I had never watched them from a boat in the water before.  I loved it!

I don't have any pictures of Blarb and I doing anything because we didn't really do much.  Again, too damn hot to be outside exerting any energy whatsoever.  One night we drank a whole bottle of this:
And tried to play Wii bowling but all I did was piss Joe off and he made me go to bed at 10:30pm.  Then Joe and I woke up at 8am on Saturday morning and watched Buck Commander and I actually really like it.  I especially liked it because it was being hosted by Jason Aldean:

And also Luke Bryan!

Oh Yeah!!

So anyway, Kari went home Saturday evening as we were running out the door to Eau Claire to Trish's wedding...someone had to stay out fishing extra-long and give me anxiety about being late to a function but we made it in time.  We stayed at the reception for a few hours and had a lovely time.  The bride and groom looked happy as could be and we couldn't be more happy for them.
The next day was spent just hanging out until I had to come home Monday morning.  We didn't do anything too exciting, mostly due to the ungodly weather keeping us indoors, but that's okay.  I realize the older I get that it doesn't matter where I go on vacation or what I do, just as long as I'm with the people that I love and I get to spend as much quality time with them as possible.  And that's exactly what we did and I couldn't have loved it any more.  :)
